Personalized
dermatology care.

Evergreen Dermatology is a medical dermatology clinic proudly serving the Greater Houston Area.

We offer a variety of procedures and treatments tailored to our patient's individual needs.

For ease of understanding, below is a list of the services provided and common conditions treated. If you are unsure if we are able to help you with the condition you are experiencing, please book a consultation and we will gladly answer any questions you may have.

Mohs Surgery

Mohs Micrographic Technique is a highly specialized procedure that allows doctors to remove skin cancers with great accuracy. Mohs surgeons typically undergo an additional year of fellowship training after their dermatology residency training in order to be proficient in Mohs surgery.

While most dermatology offices often refer their patients with skin cancer to Mohs surgeons for treatment, our practice conveniently allows patients to remain in the care of the same physician from start to finish. Having the skin cancer treated by the same physician allows us to monitor the progress of our patients closely, resulting in better medical care.

Skin Biopsy

A Skin Biopsy is a procedure that removes a small lesion from the skin to be sent to the lab for testing. The procedure is usually performed under local anesthesia in our office. The purpose of a skin biopsy is to check for the presence of skin cancers and infections as well as diagnosing unusual rashes.

A patient will typically undergo a Skin Biopsy if they are experiencing a new or changing mole, a patch of dry, scaly, or rough skin, or any unexplained symptoms of the skin.

Excision

An excision is the complete surgical removal of a skin lesion. The procedure involves numbing the area with local anesthesia prior to the removal of unwanted growths on the skin and is performed in the Evergreen clinic

Incision and Drainage

Incision and Drainage is the treatment procedure performed for any type of abscess or large infection trapped under the skin. Patients may be required to start a course of antibiotics before the procedure to prevent infection from occurring elsewhere in the body.

After administering a local anesthetic, our dermatologist will make a small incision in the affected area. The abscess will then be drained, cleaned, and packed with sterile gauze. Depending on the size of the abscess, aftercare instructions will be provided to Evergreen patients by our dermatologist.

Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy is the use of extremely cold liquid nitrogen to treat or destroy skin lesions or unwanted tissue. It is commonly used for skin tags or non-cancerous growths on your skin. The procedure is relatively quick and leaves the surrounding skin unaffected.  This procedure is performed in the Evergreen clinic.

Mole Check

A mole check is a detailed inspection of any new or changing mole by your dermatologist to identify if a mole or spot is normal, abnormal or requires further care. If you notice changes in a mole's color, size or general appearance it’s a good idea to have us take a look.

Intralesional Steroid Injections

Steroid injections are widely used in the medical field to help reduce and suppress inflammation in a particular part of the body. These injections can be administered to the skin to treat a variety of skin conditions.

This procedure involves the injection of a steroid into the affected area through a fine needle which allows for deeper penetration into the skin than a topical or oral solution allows.

Acne

Acne is a skin condition where your follicle is plagued with excess oil and/or dead skin cells resulting in redness, bumps, breakouts and blemishes. While it is normal to experience acne throughout your life, management of this condition can become overwhelming.

Evergreen Dermatology can help you manage your acne while maintaining and improving the overall health and appearance of your skin.

Cyst

A cyst is a pocket under the skin typically filled with pus, fluid, or other material and can form anywhere on the body. While most cysts heal on their own, some may need to be drained.

If you are wanting your cyst removed or drained, it is best to seek us for treatment and not try to pop the cyst on your own.

Eczema

Eczema is a chronic skin condition resulting in scaly itchy, inflamed or red patches on the skin. People with Eczema may experience periods of normalcy followed by Eczema flares.

The condition is typically treated with topical steroids. We will be able to help you manage your Eczema and minimize symptoms and flares.

Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a chronic skin condition that arises as a result of problems within the immune system. It causes red itchy or scaly patches on the skin. These patches most often occur on the knees, elbow or scalp. Like eczema, psoriasis tends to appear in cycles. People with psoriasis will experience periods of normalcy followed by psoriasis flares.

We can help you identify your psoriasis triggers, treat the skin and formulate a plan with you to minimize psoriasis breakouts.

Lipoma

Lipoma is a lump of fatty tissue that forms just underneath the surface of the skin. When touched, the lipoma is moved relatively easily, and it often feels soft rather than a hard lump. Most lipomas are not harmful and do not cause pain. Typically, they are oval or circular shaped and can look similar to a cyst.

Lipomas can be uncomfortable if they are pressed against a joint or a nerve. Our dermatologists will be able to identify a lipoma and discuss with you the best course of action based on what you are experiencing.

Rash

Any itchy red painful or irritated area of the skin is classified as a rash. Rashes can be a result of a health or medical condition, or a reaction to something in nature.

Rashes are caused by a variety of different stimuli. Our dermatologist will be able to treat your rash upon examination.

Skin Cancer

Skin cancer is the abnormal growth of skin cells on the body. There are three major types of skin cancer – Basal Cell Carcinoma, Squamous Cell Carcinoma and Melanoma.

Evergreen Dermatology specializes in treating skin cancer and often uses the Mohs technique where applicable to treat skin cancers with great accuracy. Skin cancer treatment plans are individualized to each Evergreen patient. Upon examination, your Evergreen Dermatologist will discuss the best treatment plan and options with you.

Rosacea

Rosacea is a condition common in the face that causes red flare-ups, blushing or visible blood vessels. It can sometimes cause bumps on the skin. Individuals with Rosacea will experience flushed red cheeks with moderate to severe irritation.

Common triggers for rosacea include stress, physical activity, extreme heat, extreme cold, and spicy food. There are numerous options for treating and living with Rosacea. Our dermatologist will be able to discuss the best course of action for you based on what you are experiencing.

Warts

Warts are typically small rough growths that appear on the skin caused by the Human Papilloma Virus. The virus encourages extra cell growth, causing the outer layer of your skin to become very hard and rough in a specific spot. Some individuals are more susceptible to warts than others.

If you have other skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis you may be more prone to warts. While some warts can heal on their own, many are stubborn and require the help of a physician. Our dermatologist will be able to examine your wart and discuss with you the best options for treatment.

Seborrheic Dermatitis

Seborrheic Dermatitis is a skin condition that most often affects the scalp. It causes patchy, red, scaly dandruff. Sometimes it can affect other areas of the body that are also oily, such as your face, nose, eyebrows, ears, or chest.

Seborrheic dermatitis is sometimes triggered by an inflammatory reaction to a yeast that lies on the skin's surface. If you are struggling with Seborrheic Dermatitis, we will be able to formulate a treatment plan best suited to your needs.

Actinic Keratosis

Actinic Keratosis looks like rough scaly bumpy patches on the skin. It is a very common condition where a majority of people will experience various forms within their life.

Actinic Keratosis can be a result of skin damage by UV light or by the sun. Left untreated, in some cases, this can turn into squamous cell skin cancer. If persistent, or causing pain and irritation, it may be time to come in for a consultation to discuss treatment and management.
